why dandelion?

Behind dandelion literary services is me, Courtney Greenhalgh, born with a love for books and reading embedded in my soul. It was a dream come true when I started my first job in publishing in March of 2004. After being an avid reader in my youth, I went on to double major in English Literature and English Writing, and that led me to the career I have adored for over 20 years. From major houses like Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, Random House, Workman, and Time Inc., to leading my own book-focused PR company and working at Amazon Publishing—I understand this industry from all angles.

My reading habits and tastes may have changed over the last several decades, but what hasn’t changed is my belief in the beauty of the written word and the powerful impact that books have on our psyche and our culture. I’ve crafted, executed, and overseen numerous campaigns by New York Times bestselling and award-winning authors, as well as thought leaders, experts, celebrities, politicians, chefs, and major brands.

What my experience has shown me is how much blood, sweat, and tears authors pour into their books, and all they want is the best shot at success. But what I found is that many of them spent their hard-earned money on services that didn’t suit their projects, they didn’t know the right people/companies to hire, or they were unaware of the vast opportunities and services available to them.

I want to change that. I can help make your book become the best version it can be, I can make sure you’re spending your money wisely and strategically, and I can help craft materials that will effectively spread the word.
